Well, we made it! S.C.O.P.E. held its Charity Run to Catalina
yesterday and it turned out to be one awesome day. We had fog on and off
throughout Saturday and woke up Sunday morning with some coastal fog, but
had about one mile of visibility. We originally had 45 boats RSVP for the
run, but there were a few poodles that got scared off with some of the
limited visibility.
By the time the fleet hit Avalon at 10:30, the skies were clear and
sunny....the weather at Catalina was perfect. Due to the fog and lack of
wind, the seas were extremely calm....no swells, just flat water with a
slight chop here and there. We all had lunch at the Riviera Room.
S.C.O.P.E.
members and their guests came through in a big way! Currently, we have
raised just over $6700 dollars for the charity and we have another $500 or
so committed by friends or members that could not make the run. The day
was a huge success...we really want to thank everyone for participating
and for their support in this worthwhile event....we really hit a homerun
on this one! Thanks again everyone....you did everyone proud!!! DMan
