Many members get together and go for some coastal runs outside the normal S.C.O.P.E. schedule of events. This section highlights some of the trips to Catalina Island, Long Beach and Newport.

December 8th, 2001: Long Beach, Yard House (again)

Just about 75 people, and 18 boats showed up on a beautiful 80 degree December day in sunny SoCal to help Captain Ron celebrate his birthday in traditional S.C.O.P.E. style.......boating! The water was flat, flat flat. Happy Birthday Ron!

November 23rd, 2001: Long Beach, Yard House

Well....we did our Yard House Turkey-Run on Friday and what a day!!!!! First of all, we had a picture perfect day...blue skies, 20 mile visibility and temperatures in the mid to high 70's....absolutely awesome. The ocean was a little lumpy which created some great air time...just slowed everyone up a couple miles per hour, but no big deal. Well, all the boats pulled in at the Yard House and we had 19 boats!!!! Another great turnout....Scarabs, Fountain's, Formula's, Cigarette's.....they were all there. Everyone hung out for a couple hours and the ride back to Newport...with the swell, was a piece of cake...some fast water, but challenging. Then, around 3:30, the entire gang heads over to Woody's and proceeds to celebrate...Doug and crew, BCC, KWB, Ken B., Rick 32, River Girl, Bobbit, Guillen, McNamara, Steele, Storm, etc...the whole SCOPE gang....that lasted until around 6:30 and then the gang headed to Villa Nova for dinner at which time I bailed out and called it quits....It was a pretty awesome and long day...looks like everyone made it home in good shape.
