By all accounts, 2008 will be a block buster year for SCOPE! We're going to build on a fantastic 2007 led by Lu Lyall, which included great events and the return of the SCOPE Poker Run to Long Beach. The Poker Run feedback was "Awesome Event" and "We'll be back next year for sure"....PLUS....The Friends of the Long Beach Firefighter's Charity benefited by a $21,000+ donation! in 2008, we'll bring the same quality and attention of the Poker Run to all of our 2008 events. We have a fantastic BOD (Board of Directors) and each Director will take personal responsibility for an event. Expect some great new events, and new twists on the good old annual events.

We're planning 13 events which include local outings and SCOPE road trips. I'm sure you'll find your family and friends will enjoy these outings. Entire families participate and great friendships are developed between the Guys, Gals and Kids. I know my wife and 6 year old daughter look forward to each and every event. In fact, all of our vacations are already planned for 2008 thanks to SCOPE friends and families!!!

Expect a lot of communication about our upcoming events....because we are so excited about them! You will receive an email and perhaps a personal call from BOD members inviting you to each event throughout the year. Please visit our message board on the website to let others know you will be participating and to get the last minute event details.

All of this would not be possible without our corporate sponsors. Their generosity is greatly appreciated!!! Please make sure that you personally take to the time to thank the sponsors and patronize their businesses. The boating group is a small community and we need to continue to work with one another to build our sport. Be sure to let the sponsors know you are a SCOPE member and you will likely get a nice discount!!!
